“In a fractured age, when cynicism is god, here is a possible heresy: we live by stories, we also live in them.”
- Ben Okri, A Way of Being Free
The great Ben Okri goes on to suggest that one way or another we are living the stories planted in us early or along the way, we are also living the stories we planted - knowing or unknowing - in ourselves. We live the stories that either give our lives meaning, or negate it with meaninglessness. If we change the stories we live by, quite possibly we change our lives.
I take pictures to tell a story about others telling their stories, in the hope that these stories we create together give our lives a deeper and more connected meaning.
“Chambers creates views imbued with mysterious beauty, which form a link both poetic and technical…which belong to the realm of alchemy.”
